Hangzhou is renowned for its West Lake and its forested hills. It is several hours drive West of Shanghai. | |||

From Shanghai, we flew to Guilin. The stunning landscapes here are filled with limestone karsts, the huge stone pillars which are often riddled with magnificent caves. This is a view of a part of Guilin from Mt Die Cai. | |||

The Reed Flute Cave, Guilin. This is a spectacular cave system carved out of the limestone mountains. I chose this shot as it reminded me of the limestone karsts along the Li River. | |||
We had a most enjoyable 4 hour cruise along the Li River. | |||

Yangshou is a small town on the Li River. In the local park, the ladies were busy playing a game of cards of some kind. | |||

From Guilin we flew to Kunming, but that was where the Baker's Cyst put an end to our China Tour. Better luck next time! |
