| I had a most enjoyable trip to Mainland China in 2012. On my return to Sydney, I was keen to do a painting which had a mixture of Chinese and Western art elements. While there, I took about 1500 photos so I had lots of pictorial inspiration for this project.
Hangzhou is a lovely town, famous for its lakes and mountains. It is a few hours drive West of Shanghai. The Chinese symbol in the top right corner of the painting is (I hope) the character for Luck. We all need lots of that, don't we? (I will just pop down to the shops to buy a lottery ticket...) |
