The Trickle-Down Effect
The "Trickle-Down Effect" is at times used to justify giving substantial tax-breaks and other economic advantages to the very wealthy. The theory suggests that the poor also benefit from such measures, as wealth is eventually supposed to trickle down from the rich to the poor. I sometimes think of it as a "Golden Shower".
