The Alcazar is so impressive that it deserves it own webpage. According to Wikipedia, it is the oldest Royal Palace operating in Europe today. It was built upon an old Moorish fort, and it has some of the best preserved examples of Mudejar (or Moorish) art and architecture.
Near the entrance to the Alcazar, there are remnants of the old walls of the Moorish fort.
The Christian Kings who conquered the Arabs must have been in awe of their advanced culture. The Moorish style in Architecture was fashionable long after the Reconquista.
The gardens attached to the Alcazar are extensive and have a number of distinct areas worth exploring. The cafeteria is to the right of this folly.
There is a separate page for some of the other attractions of Seville.
